NHToDo Magazine Rolls Out New Logo
LONDONDERRY, NH - January
1, 2006. NHToDo Magazine, the monthly activity-based magazine with feature
articles dedicated to New Hampshire's excitement and adventure, recently
rolled out their newly designed logo and sweepeing changes to the layout.
Executive Editor Daron H.
Libby explains, "Since the inception of NHToDo Magazine in June of 2002,
our publisher Wayne Green always envisioned a monthly magazine on newsstands
throughout New England, New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey that promoted
all there is to do in New Hampshire. New Hampshire NEEDS a magazine list
this. Wayne wanted to tell the 50 million people within an eight-hour drive
about our mountains to hike, our rivers to fish and canoe, and our four seasons
of fun and recreation. Tourism is New Hampshire's largest industry and growing
tourism will strengthen our state economy and create jobs.
From the outset, NHToDo has
always been available in all the New England states ditributed by Hudson/Atlas
News and Ingram Periodicals. But it took over three years to build a circulation
strong enough to expand southward beyond New England. In September of 2005,
NHToDo went onsale at 100 Barnes and Noble stores in eastern New York, Pennsylvania,
New Jersey, and Delaware. Our goal is to double New Hampshire's tourism industry
and this is a milestone for our company.
The time has come to say
goodbye to our original name "NHToDo" and the logo that went with it. Now
that people in New Jersey are looking at our magazine cover, we simply must
write out the name of the state so they'll know that this is a magazine all
about New Hampshire! But you can rest assured that we will continue to bring
you the kind of informational and interesting artcles that you've become
accustomed to.
And while we were at
it, we took the time to make a few design changes to make the magazine more
easy to read. Wayne’s been pulishing magazines since the 1950’s and says,
“A good measure of a magazine is to count how many articles you’d like to
tear out and keep.” We take pride in hearing from so many of you that you
don’t tear out articles ... you keep the whole magazine and never throw any
of them out! In fact, we have a back issue catalog. Just send us a self-addressed
envelope and ask for one. We have readers buying back issues all the time.
Why? Because so many of articles are not dated. For example, the article
in this month’s issue about all the Inns and B&Bs in the Dartmouth/Sunapee
area will be very handy the next time Aunt Edna comes to town. There are
some absolutely gorgeous places to stay in that region and you may find things
move just a bit slower over that way. But then again that’s what its all
about. Why not look one place up and go spend a night or two. The innkeepers
are always friendly and the breakfast is out of this world! And make sure
you tell them that you found out about their place by reading NHToDo Magazine.
As we begin the new year of 2006, we at NHToDo (now pronounced “New Hampshire
ToDo”) are grateful for the opportunity to create this wonderful magazine
for you month after month. Our freelance pool of nearly 300 writers and photographers
continue to come up with more and more ideas of things to write about. It
really is endless.
And we are grateful to all the NH businesses that have supported us in our
early years as we worked together to let you, the reader, know about all
these great places we have here to eat, stay and play!
Thank goodness the gas prices did come back down to Earth, so that we can
all get out and enjoy all the fun and adventure New Hampshire has to offer
this winter. I’d like to try that Snow Coach to the top of Mount Washington!
And do drop us a note to let us know when you come up with a good idea for
a story. We’re always on the lookout."
