NHToDo Magazine Expands Out-of-State Distribution
August 10, 2005

Londonderry, NH - NHToDo Magazine recently announced the roll-out of a three-phase plan to significantly expand its out-of-state newsstand distribution. Since the first issue was published in May 2002, NHToDo has been available to subscribers and onsale at retail outlets throughout New England such as Barnes&Noble, Cumberland Farms, Shaw's, CVS and Borders bookstores. In their continuing effort to help grow New Hampshire tourism, NHToDo has added over 100 new Barnes & Noble stores in eastern New York, Pennsylvania and all of New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland beginning with the September 2005 issue. The Castle in the Clouds, the magnificent mountain estate of Moultonborough, is featured on the cover.

Executive editor Daron Libby said, "Now in our fourth year, we are pleased to have reached this point in time when we can expand our reach outside New England and to tell millions of people within driving distance about interesting places in New Hampshire like the Castle in the Clouds. We recognize that the best way to strengthen our state economy and create jobs is to grow tourism and that means attracting more and more travelers from out of state. People in New Jersey or Pennsylvania looking to vacation in New England will go to the internet or to a bookstore for travel information. The more thoroughly New Hampshire is represented there, the more folks will start making plans to visit.  NHToDo, in print and on the web, gives them hundreds of reasons to come to New Hampshire all year long through our compelling feature articles written from a pool of over 300 talented writers and photographers."

The second distribution expansion phase, planned for January 2006, includes adding more pages, a new logo and a second wave of 100 more stores in western New York and Pennsylvania to further increase out-of-state presence. Libby states, "Now that NHToDo is available in bookstores in New York and New Jersey, it is no longer obvious that "NHToDo Magazine" is all about New Hampshire. For that reason, our new logo will incorporate "New Hampshire To Do!" and present the full name of our state front and center."

The third phase will be launched in April, adding Daltons and Waldenbooks and raise out-of-state newsstand coverage to well over 1000 retail outlets. The April issue was the biggest seller for 2005 newsstand sales so far as it listed the entire spring/summer/fall lineup of Granite State Fairs and Festivals complete with dates, phone numbers and websites. Publisher Wayne Green says, "One measure of a good magazine is to count how many articles you'd like to tear out and keep. Most magazines these days are all fluff and full of advertisements - you flip through and throw it out. With the kind of fresh and current information we're packing into NHToDo month after month, our readers don't tear out articles - they keep the entire magazine. And order back issues! NHToDo is a very useful monthly resource for people traveling to our state and for families that live right here in New Hampshire."

NHToDo Magazine is a monthly, 68-page, full color, activity-based magazine that encourages readers to discover the diversity that New Hampshire offers for family fun. Feature articles are presented in a colorful and entertaining format and are loaded with ideas from skiing, camping and hot air ballooning to antiquing and scenic drives. NHToDo also includes monthly New Hampshire dining and lodging reviews as well as a three-month events calendar, listing many of New Hampshire’s most exciting festivals and fairs. The NHToDo ClubCard entitles subscribers to discounts at lodging, restaurants and attractions throughout New Hampshire.
